SEX

Everybody in the warung wants to see I Made Lemuh Jaruh’s mobile. And having seen it, everybody says, “Oh My God”, “Shit”, “Hell”, as they can not believe what they see. There is something in there that make them hold their breath. What is on the mobile is a short video showing a junior high school boy having a sex intercourse with his girlfriend. “This video really make me turn on”, one of them says.

“It gets me horny,” says the other one.

Oh, I am having a ‘temperature’,” says the other one.

“They are from Gianyar,” Made says.

When the video is finished, Made shows another one. This one shows a Senior high school boy having a sex intercourse with his girlfriend. Everybody is getting more and more surprised as they can not believe that.

“They are from Buleleng,” Made says.

Some of them are worried especially the ones who have daughters.
“How dare they do that”, says I Kadek Ketug Lelor.

“How could they do that ‘style’. You know, I have been married for three times but I’ve never practised that style,” says I Putu Buang Soang-Soang.

Nobody replies. Nobody knows the right answer. Who and what should be blamed; the cinetron programs who make the kindergarten kids able to say about dating? The schools which just emphasize on the high academic grades for the students but forget to monitor their students behaviour? The blue films which are cheap and easy to find? Or the busy parents looking for fortunes and forget to educate their children properly?

Nobody doesn’t want to be blamed. As we can see, a student who is also an artist, will be asked to move to other school otherwise they will be suspended. The teachers also collect their students’ mobiles and check their school bags. The teaches also think that the mobiles make the students horny and that the condoms (in their bags) that have been taken by them would prevent students having sex.

The parents also straightly will get angry to their daughter who get pregnant before get married. They will take their daughter to a clinic for abortion because they think that having a pregnant daughter without husband would ruin their reputation. Even the police is busy busting the porn VCD and DVD vendors in spite of they enjoy them.

The police also interrogate the students being caught having sex as if the students were criminals.

“This situation makes me think that it is much more easier to blame the teenagers,” Made says.

Their parents might have forgotten what they were like when they were young.

“I think they are they same like their children. They were also ‘naughty’, like flirting, kissing, touching.

Everybody agrees to what Made has just said.

“I agree to Made,” Putu says, “I even flirted the jamu vendor when I didn’t have a girlfriend when I was young.

That’s why we shouldn’t only blame our children for what they are doing. It’s natural thing. However, what we should do is how to make them not to think just about sex,” Made says.

“We should tell them not to having sex, just kissing instead. Or even if they do, they should not get pregnant.
